March 2011 – The Biggest Music Month Ever

Next month anticipate dozens of releases from all of your favorite artists. Many labels have stragetgically planned their album’s releases on the same days as others to encourage sales. Don’t be surprised if you stop by your local record store more than once next month. In order to make things easier we have your calendar for the biggest releases next moth.

March 1

The month starts out with one of the most anticipated releases of the year, Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne. The album is lead by the underperforming lead single H.A.M., but that does not mean the album will fare the same fate. Both West and Jay released incredible albums in the past 18 months so this record is sure to be a masterpiece.

March 8

March becomes even more exciting as Canadian songstress Avril Lavigne plans to release her fourth studio album Goodbye Lullaby. Lavigne has states that this album is much more mature than 2007’s Best Damn Thing, but she assures it is still fun which is evident from the album’s lead single What The Hell.

Lupe Fiasco‘s next album is also slated for March 8th. LASERS features cameos from Skylar Grey and Trey Songz.

March 14

Punk Rockers Green Day will release their live album Awesome As F**K in March. The album will feature performances from their 21st Century Breakdown Tour. For big Green Day Fans the album is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

March 15

Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove will release a new EP on the Ides of March entitled High Maintenance. The EP title track is Rivers Cuomo collaboration which Cosgrove has said is one of the “funnest things [she’s] ever done.” The album’s lead single Dancing Crazy is available now; Cosgrove is currently on a tour of the same name.

The American Idol franchise will be releasing a Greatest Hits collection which has been viewed by some as a hit-or-miss grab bag of songs. The album features classic hits by Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Adam Lambert, and B-Sides you could not even hum along to by Taylor Hicks and Lee DeWyze.

March 22

Speaking of American Idol, Jennifer Hudson will release her sophmore effort I Remember Me of March 22. The album is aided by lead single Where You At which Hudson performed on Oprah earlier this week. The 10-track album will feature both upbeat R&B songs as well as tearful ballads. This is Hudson’s first album since the murder of her mother in 2009.

March 29

One of the most exciting albums ever is the highly anticipated seventh Britney Spears album Femme Fatale. Britney’s camp has successfully created anticipation for the album; the album’s lead single has already topped the charts, a new teaser for music videos are released every day, and new promotional pictures are showcased on Britney’s website periodically. With all of the aniticipation fans cannot wait for the next Britney album.

Chris Brown will be releasing his hit-or-miss album F.A.M.E. at the end of March. The album could turn out to be a success, but after 2009’s flop Graffiti it is unclear as to whether this album will be a critical or commerical success.

New American Idol Judge Jennifer Lopez will be releasing her new album Love? on March 29th. This album is several years in the making, and it is evident that with all the promotion Jennifer is recieving from Idol now is the time to release the record.

Rapper Snoop Dogg will release his next album Doggumentary on the 29th. The album made headlines earlier this week after it was shown that Snoop was not even on the cover. Awkward.

Wiz Khalfia is set to release his new album Rolling Papers on the 29th. The album is aided by the #1 Hit Black and Yellow.

Since this is their first album since their band spilt in half it is unsure as to whether Vices and Virtues will be a success for Panic At The Disco. The album is led by single The Ballad of Mona Lisa.
