Britney and Kanye’s Single to Drop Same Day

Both Britney Spears’s first single and Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaboration single will be released the same day, Tues. Jan 11.
Above we have the album artwork for Britney’s first single Hold It Against Me. Earlier today we posted the artwork for Kanye and Jay-Z’s single H.A.M. Did anyone else notice that the intials for “Hold it Against Me” are HAM. Just us?
Well we could not be more excited for Brit’s album, but after Yeezy released his monster of an album, 2010’s Dark Fantasy we cannot wait for his either.
Neither album, has been given an offical release date.
What do you think? Who’s song are you picking up?

This is the first picture coming from Kanye West and Jay-Z’s highly anticipated collaboration album Watch the Throne.
It is for the album’s first single H.A.M.
The album and the single have yet to be given an offical release date.
What do you think? Are you excited for Throne?

This is by far the highlight of our day!

While promotiong for her new movie “Country Strong” our favorite Glee guest-star of all time (sorry Brit) will be hosting Saturday Night Live on January 15. The Oscar-nominated actress is hillarious so it would be an amazing episode regardless…

Rapper Cee-Lo Green will be the episode’s musical guest, which means we may get the Cee-Lo/Gweynth collaboration we have heard so much about. I hope they do Forget You together!

What do you think? Are you excited for SNL?

Lea Michele and Susan Boyle Duet?

If Lea Michelle gets her way that may be what happens!

Glee’s Lea Michele has recently said which singer she would love do to a duet with on the Fox hit show, and its none other that the great Susan Boyle. She says:

“Oh my God, I have no idea! It would be so incredible to sing with her. She had a hidden talent which was then discovered, which is what happened to so many of us from Glee. Look at Amber Riley and Chris Colfer – they’re incredible and thanks to Glee the world gets to see them.

We’d really like that! Its too bad though, she already did I Dreamed A Dream on Glee.
Wasn’t SuBo supposed to star on Glee as the lunchlady or something? When do we get that?

What d you think? Would you like a Lea/SuBo collab?

People’s Choice Awards Predictions!

This wednesday (Jan. 5) are the 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards. Queen Latifah is hosting the CBS aired event, and although the event may not make a huge impact on pop-culture it is a representation of what people think about artists in the industry. This early in the year it is important to tell where people’s minds are when it comes to purchasing music, and this is one of the few shows in which (obviously) the viewers vote.

We listed who we think will win, and we also listed who should win. Just for kicks who we voted for.

Favorite Song

  • Airplanes by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams
  • California Gurls by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg
  • Love The Way You Lie by Eminem featuringRihanna
  • OMG, by Usher featuring
  • Telephone by Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé

Should Win: California Gurls by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg
Will Win: California Gurls by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg
Voted For: Love The Way You Lie by Eminem featuring Rihanna

First, lets note how music has changed because throughout the decade, all of these songs are collaborations, not a single solo act. The biggest song of this year was Ke$ha’s Tik Tok, but if that song is out of the way Katy Perry is a close #2. We voted for Love the Way You Lie because lyrically that song is FAR superior to any other in that category.

Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” Explodes atop Hot 100

When the Billboard Hot 100 is released tomorrow Bruno Mars will be the leader of the chart with his song Grenade. This will be Mars’ third visit to the top of the chart in his very short career. He topped the chart earlier this year with Just the Way You Are and his B.o.B. collaboration Nothin’ on You.
Mars will knock Katy Perry’s Firework out of the top spot after three weeks there.
Mars made headlines earlier this month after receiving 7 Grammy nomination, second only to Eminem.
