American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks was invited to Clive Davis’s Grammy Gala on Saturday.
Sparks says that she is incredibly thankful that her record No Air was nominated, and it was a dream come true to have on of her first songs nominated.
She says that her peers are inspiration; she goes on to say that even people like Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber are incredible talents. Sparks went on to say that Cyrus is awesome.
Sparks says she will be working on her third studio album on Valentine’s Day. The album is yet to be titled and does not have a release date.
A new set of pictures were released for the rehearsal for the Justin Beiber performance at the Grammy’s. The “Best New Artist” nominee is set to perform with Jaden Smith and Usher who is nominated twice. This is Usher’s (pictured above) first performance since the Super Bowl Halftime Show where he was clearly lip-syncing.
Here’s hoping that tomorrow night’s performance will be better.
Check out the cutest picture of Jaden and Justin, and the creepiest picture of Usher and Justin below.
The Grammy’s have been famous for creating a stage in which they know music lovers will be watching. Because of this artists will take advantage by creating the most outrageous and memorable performances they can. After looking at the finalized list of performances we compiled our list of the 5 performances you do want to see, and the 5 you don’t.
This year more than ever the Grammy’s went pop. Which makes this genré the most important of them all and will prove as the descision point for the Big Four categories. See what we pick, and comment below, who do you think will take home the pop trophies?
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance
▪ “King of Anything” – Sara Bareilles
▪ “Halo” (Live) – Beyoncé
▪ “Chasing Pirates” – Norah Jones
▪ “Bad Romance” – Lady Gaga
▪ “Teenage Dream” – Katy Perry
Of the pop categories, this one had the weakest selection of all. Beyoncé’s Halo should not be eligible as it won this category last year, and Chasing Pirates is an obscure song both lyrically and melodically and failed to crack any pop chart this year. And isn’t that what Pop music stands for? Popular. On the contrary the other three nominees are all perfect picks for this year; King is a simple traditional pop song, Romance is a high production smash hit, and Teenage Dream is a fun, summer, song (and this is one of the few categories where that is acceptable).

Teenage Dream by Katy Perry has great production and a killer dance beat, perfect for a pop song.
Bad Romance was the biggest snub in both Record and Single of the Year the academy will likely award Gaga for her groundbreaking, heavy synth tune.
Best Male Pop Vocal Performance
▪ “Haven’t Met You Yet” – Michael Bublé
▪ “This Is It” – Michael Jackson
▪ “Whataya Want from Me” – Adam Lambert
▪ “Just the Way You Are” – Bruno Mars
▪ “Half of My Heart” – John Mayer

MJ’s Big Blog is reporting that the FOX television show Glee is planning a Justin Beiber themed episode following in the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, and Journey.
The details seem a little sketchy, but the worst thing is that producer Ryan Murphy would be abondoning any chance of Glee transforming into a mature show, aimed towards adults and with a decent plot.
Plus, how many songs does the Beibz have? After One Time and Baby what more can you do?
What do you think? Would you watch a Justin Beiber episode of Glee?
Both Eminem and Rihanna earned a myriad of honors at the 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards on January 5th. Eminem won four awards: Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Song, and Favorite Music Video. The latter two awards were shared with Rihanna who also earned Favorite Pop Star at the show. The two are also side-by-side this week on the Billboard charts; Eminem is at #2 with Recovery while Rihanna resides at #3 with Loud. Neither artist attended the event.
Katy Perry won two awards for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Web Celeb, she accepted her awards hinting at summer dates for her California Dreams Tour.
Usher, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Paramore each nabbed one award. Paramore did not attend the ceremony as their band is going through a rebuilding phase after losing two members last month. They are set to talk to MTV on Friday (Jan. 7) addressing the issue.
Also, Selena Gomez, who picked up Favorite New Artist performed her hit A Year Without Rain, at the show. The album of the same name is in stores now.
Suprising snubs, both Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber went home empty handed. Also suprising, Britney Spears lost in the Favorite TV Guest Star category. Tough Luck!
What did you think of the People’s Choice Awards!
Taylor Swift is currently presenting the award for “Favorite Movie Actor”, but it is not her highlight of her night. The country star picked up “Favorite Country Singer” earlier in the evening. We predicted that btw. Earlier this year Swift released Speak Now which sold one-million copies in one week, and became the third highest selling album of the year.
Another winner of the night was Selena Gomez & The Scene for “Favorite New Artist”, it was a shock and makes viewers wonder whether the awards are legitimate, or simply award people who are in the audience. She beat out front-runner/boyfriend Justin Beiber,
What do you think of the nights winners thus far?
P.S. Johnny Depp won
